1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, issuing an API Key or sending a request to the API, You agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If You do not agree, You must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
The Service provides machine translation over HTTPS. Each Plan includes a monthly character volume, a requests-per-second limit and access to one or more translation engines as described on the pricing page. Usage beyond the included volume is either rejected or billed as overage depending on Your Plan and account settings.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age, or the age of digital consent in Your jurisdiction, and capable of entering into a binding agreement. If You use the Service on behalf of an organisation, You represent that You are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
4. API Keys and Security
- You are responsible for all requests made with Your API Keys.
- Keys must be kept confidential and used only from server-side environments You control. Do not embed keys in client-side, mobile or public code.
- You must revoke a key immediately from the dashboard if You believe it has been exposed. Usage incurred before revocation remains billable.
5. Acceptable Use
By using the Service, You agree not to:
- Translate content that is unlawful, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Circumvent rate limits, quotas or other usage controls, including by distributing load across multiple accounts.
- Resell raw access to the API without adding a distinct product or service on top.
- Reverse-engineer, probe or interfere with the Service's infrastructure.
6. Plans, Billing and Overage
- Characters are metered on the input text of each successful
POST /v1/translaterequest. Failed requests andGET /v1/languagesare not metered. - Included volume resets at the start of each billing period and does not roll over.
- On paid Plans You may enable overage from the dashboard; overage is billed at the per-character rate shown for Your Plan. With overage disabled, requests beyond the included volume are rejected with HTTP 402.
- Plan prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by Our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Text You submit for translation is processed transiently and is not stored beyond a short-lived cache.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TRANSLATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE. Any uptime commitment applies only where expressly stated for Your Plan.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate Your access at any time for a violation of these Terms or to protect the Service. You may delete Your account at any time from the Account page; all API Keys are revoked immediately on deletion.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
